Born and raised on a small farm near Kimberley, Thinus now resides in the friendly city of Port Elizabeth, where he continues to grow his business and cultivate a deep passion for coffee. Thinus began Lincoln Coffee in 2019, recognizing a gap in the market for a corporate-branded coffee company that could deliver personalized experiences at events. “I saw a need for a more corporate branded coffee company that could handle events on a more personal level,” he says. His vision wasn’t just about serving coffee but creating moments and connections that matter. Lincoln Coffee quickly evolved from its humble beginnings, starting with just 10 cups at ISUZU Motors. Through sheer dedication and a commitment to delivering exceptional service, the business has expanded into a well-known name in corporate events.

One of the cornerstones of Lincoln Coffee’s success is Thinus’s understanding that each event is a unique opportunity to make an impression. “I think the key in any environment is to remember you are only as good as your last event,” Thinus reflects. “With this approach, it means that every event is a personal opportunity for me to meet new people. My team and I want every cup of coffee to be the best coffee experience they have had.”

He envisions Lincoln Coffee as a platform for training and empowering young people, providing them with skills that open up opportunities in the world of barista work. “Career paths are not cut out as they were previously, and if I can assist in skilling someone who gains an opportunity to travel to the world of Barista, then I feel I’ve given back.”
